Number of people who are paying great attention to what they buy and digest is constantly rising, while majority of farmers is aware of the increasing demand for organic food and products on global market and began to adjust their farming to global trends.

People starting to realize that the majority of foods and products which are today available in the stores are containing variety of chemical additives such as preservatives, flavor enhancers, artificial sugar, etc. Besides that majority of vegetables and fruits is treated with variety of pesticides, herbicides, insecticides and other chemicals while growing, while livestock, meat of which ends in our plates, has been fed with variety of food additives, growth hormones, antibiotics, etc. To make things even worse some countries allowed purchase of genetically modified foods what creates even greater unrest among the consumers.

To offer an alternative to consumers who demand more natural food with minimal or even without any chemical treatment and additives, many farmers became engaged in organic farming. However, organic farming demands complete change of farming methods and eventually greater amount of work, while the productivity is usually smaller than in traditional farming. Besides that all organic farmers are usually under strict control of authorities and are required to obtain organic certification to sell and promote their products as organic. For that reason is organic food more expensive than usual, however, because of strict regulations costumer can easily check if what he/she is buying is really organic food because every farmer selling organic food must have organic certifications.
