Disadvantages of Buying at Farmers

If financial benefits are one the greatest advantages of buying at farmers it can also turn out as one of disadvantages. Going to several different places to get everything needed takes a lot of time what can represent a serious problem nowadays. If hungry children are waiting at home we really can afford to drive ten miles to buy carrots and another ten to buy salad. Besides that driving to various places can be at the end more expensive than if we would be buying at the store for higher prices.

One of the disadvantages of buying at farmers is also the seasonal offer. The farmers sell their products and goods according to season and for that reason certain products are not available all the time.

Certain problems can also represent determining quality of products bought at farmers. They usually take the time for convincing us how healthy and qualitative their products are and are also glad to show us their farm and pick the fruits in front of us, however, we can not be sure if they are telling the truth unless they do not have some kind of certificates which guarantee some level of quality. The food bought at farmers might be fresh and taste better that the one bought at the store but there is no absolute guarantee for they quality. When buying products we can not if/or with what and if appropriate has been treated vegetables and fruits, and with what has been fed livestock.
